Study Overview and Public Consultation

Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen (HSK/HT) New Development Area (NDA) will be a new generation new town of Hong Kong and is positioned as a modern service hub, accommodating many diverse economic activities and creating impetus to the economic development of the region. Green mobility within the NDA is promoted through a planned Green Transit Corridor comprising a GTS, pedestrian walkways and cycle tracks.

GTS will provide rapid transport services and convenient interchange with other public transport modes and connect the NDA with the Yuen Long South (YLS) Development.

The Study aims to evaluate the feasibility of developing GTS in HSK/HT NDA and adjacent areas, and to formulate a suitable and feasible recommendation.

The Study is being conducted in two stages. The public consultation was completed on 14 January 2020 to collect public views on three shortlisted green public transport modes (i.e. automated people mover, green bus system and modern tram) and alignment in the Stage 1 Study. The Stage 2 of the Study has considered the public views collected in the public consultation and formulated the recommended GTS mode and alignment.
